Wigs are made for individual customers as custom orders and are not part of wholesale. Curly textures are often short in supply, so please ask about lead times before planning an order around them.

From temple auction to finished product

  1. Sourcing. The hair is bought at South Indian temple auctions. Devotees offer their hair with gratitude, and auction proceeds fund community programmes such as free meals, education and infrastructure. The hair is shaved, not cut, so each strand stays whole from root to tip with its cuticle direction intact. Each person’s offering is kept separate, so a finished bundle comes from a single donor. It is single-donor, not traceable to a named individual.
  2. Sorting. In our factory the hair is sorted piece by piece. If a donor coloured only a few strands, those strands are removed. If what is left cannot make a full 100 g bundle, that hair does not go into virgin Remy products. Because we hold our hair to a high standard, roughly 42 to 50 percent of each donor’s hair is removed during sorting.
  3. Cleaning. The only chemical contact is a lice treatment, followed by industrial-scale shampoo and conditioner. Natural shades are never coloured, permed or acid-washed.
  4. Making the product. The sorted hair is made into wefts, closures, frontals, keratin tips, micro rings and clip-ons. Closures and frontals are hand-knotted onto lace, not made by machine: a closure takes about 2 working days and a frontal about 5.
  5. Colouring. Shades are coloured in our factory. Colouring and bleaching take extra time, and blonde processing is the slowest. Coloured hair is made from virgin Remy hair and then coloured, so we do not call a coloured shade unprocessed.
  6. Dispatch. Orders ship worldwide from India.

Why the hair is single-drawn

Single-donor hair is naturally single-drawn: the strands keep their natural mix of lengths and the ends taper. Many buyers read a full, blunt end as a sign of premium hair, but it is not. Uniform lengths come from how hair is sorted and blended, and they say nothing about whether the hair is virgin or single-donor. Some buyers simply prefer the fuller look, which is a style choice, not a quality grade. Tapered ends are what genuine virgin Remy looks like. A single-donor version of uniform-length hair is rarely practical, because shorter strands and the extra cutting waste a lot of raw material, so uniform-length hair offered cheaply as single-donor virgin Remy is a claim to question.

How wholesale ordering works

  • No minimum order quantity. We take orders from a single piece.
  • Flat per-piece pricing. The price per piece is the same for 1 piece or 1,000 pieces. We do not run volume tiers.
  • Samples are paid. A typical sample is 2 or 3 bundles plus a closure or a frontal, so you can test the hair over time.
  • Private label is available. Branded boxes can raise shipping costs because couriers charge by volumetric weight.
  • No dropshipping. We cannot dropship from India.
  • Lead time. Wholesale orders usually take 3 to 20 business days to produce before they ship, depending on the product, the quantity and whether blonde shades are included. Courier transit time is additional.

How to check hair extensions manufacturers in India

Ask any manufacturer, us included, these questions before you order.

  1. Can they explain where the hair comes from and how it is collected? They should. A genuine origin has a documented, systematic collection method at the scale being sold.
  2. Can they tell you how much hair is discarded in sorting? They should. We discard roughly 42 to 50 percent, well above the roughly 20 percent often quoted for the industry, because of our quality standards.
  3. Does the finish match the claim? Genuine unprocessed hair has a matte finish. Very silky, glossy hair has almost always been treated or coated.
  4. Does the price match the claim? Genuine single-donor virgin Remy is a premium raw material, so a price far below what it should cost is a warning sign.
  5. Will they talk to you before you order? They should. Our first call is usually a conversation about quality, not just a price list.

Lab certification for every individual bundle is not realistic for any factory, so treat a printed certificate as a claim to question, not as proof. These checks take some practice, so use them as tools, not a guarantee on a first attempt. For more on telling hair types apart, see our guide to raw and virgin Remy hair.

Why buyers work with us directly

  • We are the manufacturer, not a reseller, so you deal with the people who make the product.
  • We are a boutique-style workshop, not an industrial plant, and the partners stay across which orders are being handled and when.
  • Juttu Extensions was named Best Human Hair Extensions Brand 2021 in the LUX Life Health, Beauty & Wellness Awards. See our press and recognition page.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a manufacturer or a trader?
We are a manufacturer. We buy hair at South Indian temple auctions, then sort it, make it into finished products and ship it from our factory in South India.

Are your lace closures and frontals hand-knotted?
Yes. They are hand-knotted, not made by machine. A closure takes about 2 working days to make and a frontal about 5. Lace wigs are hand-knotted too.

What do you manufacture?
Wefts and bundles, closures, frontals, keratin tips, micro rings and clip-ons, all from single-donor virgin Remy hair. Wigs are custom orders for individual customers, not wholesale.

Where does the hair come from?
South Indian temple auctions. The hair is shaved, not cut, and each person’s offering is kept separate, so a finished bundle comes from a single donor.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?
No. We accept orders from a single piece, and pricing is flat per piece regardless of order size.

Do you send samples?
Yes, samples are paid. A typical sample is 2 or 3 bundles plus a closure or a frontal.

Can you private label?
Yes. Shipping can run higher with branded boxes because it is charged by volumetric weight.

How long does a wholesale order take?
Usually 3 to 20 business days to produce before it ships, depending on the product, the quantity and whether blonde shades are included. Courier transit time is additional.

Can I order custom shades?
Our colour chart has 28 shades available across the range. Ask for a shade through an enquiry.

How long does the hair last?
With good care, the hair can last 1 year or longer, and some of our clients have had the same hair for 5 years. This is our experience, not a guarantee, and it depends on how well the hair is looked after.
